After a few delays, The World Festival of Black Arts (FESMAN) will be held in Senegal in December 2010, President Abdoulaye Waye has confirmed. The event will be the third FESMAN (Festival Mondial des Arts Negres) – the first was held in Dakar in 1966, the second in Lagos, Nigeria in 1977 and the third held next year will be run in conjunction with Brazil.
The event will also coincide with the unveiling of an African Renaissance monument which is reported to be higher than New York’s Statue of Liberty.
