Hotel Description

This luxurious hotel, which opened in 2006, ensures that its guests’ every need is taken care of. On arrival you will be whisked away along bougainvillea-lined pathways in one of the hotel buggies to your own private suite.

There are 28 suites all beautifully decorated and furnished, maintaining the African influence in the architecture, décor and fabrics used. Each suite has a large bedroom and separate sunken lounge area with satellite TV and DVD player. Both have large picture windows, which open on to a private terrace where you can choose to take your breakfast in the morning. The magnificent bathroom is fit for a film star with a double washbasin and vanity unit, a sunken Jacuzzi bath and a separate shower and toilet. All the finishing touches are there with robes and slippers, toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, safety deposit box, minibar and ironing facilities. The hotel is located next to the most perfect beach which is virtually deserted as far as the eye can see. The area just in front of the hotel is well maintained with parasols, sunbeds and waiter service.

At any time of the day or evening you can enjoy a drink at the Pelican cocktail bar; you can even swim up to the bar in the hotel’s fabulous infinity pool, framed by palm trees and a token baobab tree. The restaurant ‘Les Palétuviers’ is perfectly located overlooking the swimming pool, which is illuminated at night, and the Atlantic Ocean. The menu offers a mouthwatering selection of dishes with an African flavour, which can be accompanied by a bottle of wine from the hotel’s impressive wine cabinet.

With the focus on quality, relaxation and tranquility, the Royal Lodge Hotel does not go in for loud entertainment but can arrange excursions into the surrounding areas, fishing or birdwatching trips. A recent addition is a beauty salon offering massages and beauty treatments.
