Having opened its doors in December 2008, the Royal Decameron Baobab Resort enjoys a fantastic location nestled between a white sandy beach and the lagoon of La Somone.

The restaurants and bars, as well as the swimming pool and sunbathing terraces, all have commanding views over the beach and lagoon, with tables arranged both inside and outside to enjoy al fresco dining during the balmy evenings.
As well as your meals, snacks and drinks, you will also find many activities are included such as the weekly manager’s cocktail party, a scuba diving trial in the swimming pool and a range of non-motorised water sports on the beach. The resident entertainment team will also be on hand to arrange activities throughout the day, such as aerobics and volleyball, and into the evening with numerous colourful shows, and with fishing trips, boat trips, a massage salon, a gym, a children’s club, you will certainly have no problem filling your time.
The lagoon is also home to the Réserve de la Somone, one of the most protected wild life reserves in Senegal and home to some 150 species of birds, with pelicans and flamingos being the most prominent. The sight of these beautiful birds will appeal to everyone, whether you’re a keen twitcher or not!
With so many activities on offer, you may never want to leave the hotel but with the small town of La Somone on the doorstep, and the delights of the busier resort of Saly only a 20 minute drive away, it’s well worth venturing out to explore the local area.
