Taking its name from the local Wolof word for hospitality, the La Teranga Hotel ensures its guests are well looked after in spacious bungalows set amongst baobab trees and colourful bougainvillea.
The large rooms are arranged throughout the gardens in two-storey bungalows and are decorated with bright, colourful furnishings and well appointed with air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, and a spacious bathroom. Each room has a large private terrace with comfortable seating where you can relax with views over the picturesque gardens.
La Teranga’s impressive restaurant with its unusual elevated ceiling, has a reputation for good food and guests can sample typical African dishes as well as a delicious European menu. Alongside the restaurant is the main bar, the focus point for the nightly live music and entertainment, whilst drinks are also served under the shade of the coconut trees during the day at the beach bar.
The hotel has 3 different swimming pools, to suit swimmers of all ages and levels. The resident animation team will also get you energised throughout the day with occasional bouts of water polo and other arranged activities. Stepping on to the glorious sandy beach, you’ll find a variety of water sports such as catamarans, canoes, pedaloes and windsurfing, as well as welcoming, shaded sun-beds. For a well-deserved treat there is also the massage and beauty salon, which offers a variety of treatments.
Further activities are available in the resort centre, which is only a short distance away with deep-sea fishing, horse riding, and quad bikes, as well as a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Close by is Saly’s 18-hole golf course, one of the best in Senegal.
