First we will visit the tortoise reserve where the Sulcata tortoise are protected and bred. We will then drive up to Lac Rose (also known as the Pink Lake or Lac Retba), a strange waterway full of salt, which is extracted by collectors. Enjoy lunch at the beautiful lakeside before taking a 4x4 drive over the sand dunes on the final stretch of the Paris-Dakar rally. We will end the day watching the fishermen’s arrival at Kayar, the biggest traditional fishing centre in Senegal. From Kayar we will drive back through the bush, crossing through Peul villages.
