Enjoy a two-hour mini-safari in the animal reserve of Bandia, located in a 1000-hectare woodland conservation.
A smaller nature park by traditional safari standards, but all the same an unforgettable one! Safari seems to symbolise holidays in Africa and Bandia Nature Reserve won’t disappoint. Even though animals like elephants, lions and leopards are not generally inhabitants of Senegal, here you will still see a great variety of animals from buffalo to giraffe; zebra to rhino.
Very well run and geared up for tourists, this 3500 hectare reserve is home to a number of animals native to Africa, including buffaloes, gazelles, antelopes, giraffes, white rhino, ostriches and zebra.
The park has a lovely atmosphere and you will most likely explore by 4x4 with a guide who can tell you lots of interesting facts about the wildlife and the reserve itself. This is camera opportunity heaven! You will be getting up close and personal for pictures of these wonderful creatures – capture a giraffe family with babies in tow, or the quiet pondering of the rhino, taking his time to cross the track as you wait patiently to continue your journey through the park.
When the trip around the park is complete, there is an area where you can get some great souvenirs, and nearby, a crocodile pond (enclosed!) where animals and birds come to drink. Here you are able to enjoy a cool drink in the sunshine too, while you observe the activity in the pond!
This is a great trip that all the family will love!
