Golf de Saly

Saly Golf Course was designed by a Belgian, Vic Bernstein, and now has 18 holes. It is an extremely attractive course set amongst an abundance of greenery and flowering plants; more than 60,000 trees and 250 different varieties of plants have been planted, attracting thousands of colourful birds.

With numerous lakes and majestic baobab trees complimenting the landscape, it’s well worth taking your camera with you.

Of the 18 holes, 7 have at least 1 water hazard.  Technically, the course holds no major difficulties; you can play a long and easy game, or a shorter, more technical one. From November to July, the fairways are dry and you will have to place the ball on a winter tee. However, the tees, greens and the area 50m before the green are all of excellent quality.

65 permanent staff members are on hand to assist you and make your time enjoyable. The Club House, which is of African design, has a panoramic bar overlooking the golf course, and changing rooms with showers are available for the comfort of the players.

There is also a 16-bay driving range, a pitching green, a practice bunker, 2 putting greens and a pitch & putt.  Caddies and trolleys are also available.  The club also has a beautiful white sand beach ideal for taking a stroll after your game.

Caddies

The caddies do not use a trolley; your bag is always carried.  However if your bag is particularly heavy we would ask you to rent a trolley.  In the case of a caddie not being available, we will provide you with a trolley.  The caddie is not authorised to play with their client.  Tipping is not obligatory and is at the client’s discretion.

Dress

Bermuda shorts are ideal, and you should cover your shoulders and wear a hat as protection from the strong sun.  Beachwear is not permitted.  It is advisable to carry a water bottle with you.
